Case study for Bharathiar University

The Bharathiar University, one of the top universities in India, provides higher education and aims to impart knowledge, skills, creative attitudes and values among its students. It was established in 1982, in Coimbatore. It also has the recognition from the UGC or the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
Chief Motto of the project
AES has created and improved the university's site by providing various features in it, as per its need. The main motto of the project was to make the university available on-line for its students and staff all over the world. The performance of the university has, thus, improved drastically with the usage of this site. We not only created the site but still maintain it.
Exact Requirement:
Bharathiar University wanted a site that had all details in it, so that the students, staff and people who wanted to know more about the university, get a better idea on it, before even physically visiting the university campus. With this idea in mind, we started the project.
Our Proposal
The site has many panels of various uses, like The University, Authorities, Administration, Academic courses offered, Admission, Examination, Facilities and Links. We streamlined the huge database of the University, in such a way that it is easy to locate by the seekers. All the data is lined under the corresponding headings, that are very clear and easy to understand as well.
The university authorities were very contented with the application that we provided them and taking this into consideration, they have also given us the responsibility to maintain the site as well, rather than just create it. What's more, our hard work and dedication paid off when the website was adjudged a winning entry by the Asian Commonwealth Universities, that was awarded at the Global Conference ACU's network, held in Toronto, Canada.

- The University
This panel basically has details about the university, the Mission and vision, the university map, the achievements and accomplishments etc. This was designed to give a better idea of the Infrastructure and the ideals of the University. - Authorities
This part explains about the top management staff and the committee members as well. - Administration
We included information about the various offices in the university, in this panel. It also has information like the various office timings, whom to contact in each office etc. - Academic
This panel has been included with details like courses offered by the University, Distance Education information, the Board of Studies, the various research programs available in the university etc. Basically it has all the details related to the Academic point of view of the University. - Admission
This is a panel, which has all the details about Admission. This includes the admission procedures, the various applications that can be downloaded or filled online, the eligibility and change of name certificate request etc. We have designed this panel in such a way that a student, who wants to know the details of admission in a simplified manner, may do so. - Examination
This is one of the milestones that is achieved by us in this site. It has various details about the different examinations conducted by the University, the schedules, requests for various certificates, revaluation request, copies of the answer sheets and most importantly the results. In the results page, we have developed it in such a way that the results would be sent to us by the university and we update the results page, as and when the need arises. - Facilities
This panel talks about the various facilities that the University has in store for its staff and students. - Links
Finally the links panel that has links of various useful details like various affiliated colleges, other universities in Tamil Nadu, the various syllabus, Annual Reports of the University etc.
Apart from these, there are also other links for photo galleries related to the University, FAQ related to it, the University students' gallery, Alumni registration, various NSS activities conducted by the University etc.
The university authorities were very contented with the application that we provided them and taking this into consideration, they have also given us the responsibility to maintain the site as well, rather than just create it.
